Isolation Art – Recreating Masterpieces

Inspired by the dutch instagram account „Tussenkunstenquarantaine“ Katharina Dietl started her art project on March, 20th, when she began her self-isolation. She recreated a piece of art – mostly paintings – every day with only things she could find in her little apartment in Berlin. In the beginning she did this all by herself – until she got her „team“ in.  The Film was created, shot and edited during self-isolation in the Corona Pandemic in April/early May 2020.

With a degree in business administration, the Austrian Katharina Dietl decided to leave the business wold behind to pursue a career as an Assistant Director. With a traineeship on Expandables 3 and PA Jobs on “Woman in Gold”, “Mission Impossible 5” and “Bridge of Spies” she entered the film world and moved to Berlin. Ever since she has worked in different positions on national and international movies and tv-shows and 1st ADed her first international feature in 2019. In that year she also decided to head for directing next and started taking acting and script writing classes. “Isolation Art – Recreating Masterpieces” is her first fictional short film.
