Thijs Bouman wants to depict discomfort in his films through a mix of humor and drama. In his third year at the Netherlands Film Academy, Thijs directed a short film called The Death of a Tigermother. The film got selected for Go Short and Vers Filmfestival. His graduation film tells the story of a porn star that gets an erectile dysfunction and needs to rediscover who he wants to be in life. Thijs has an interest for problems that seem insignificant or small at first glance, but eventually highlight much bigger themes.
