EN ROUTE

Inay (9) and her brother have a day off from school and they have to join their father who needs to go on a special trip. During this route, through the awakening city, Inay secretly tries to cause a delay. She knows that if they arrive late at their destination, she will be rewarded with loads of sweet desserts.

Marit Weerheijm is a young director based in Amsterdam. In 2016, she graduated from the Netherlands Film Academy with her short film, ‘When Grey is a Colour’. This film won multiple awards, including a Student Academy Award. In 2018 she directed and co-wrote the short film ‘Before Dark’. Her latest commercial film for breast cancer organization Pink Ribbon was nominated for the Young Director Award at Cannes Lions in 2019. Marits work is based on subtle storytelling, with a strong fascination for interpersonal relationships, particularly within family ties. She has a love for intimate films with now and then a touch of magic realism.
