Sanja Milardović was born in Rijeka in 1987. She graduated in acting and puppetry from the Academy of Arts in Osijek. After finishing her studies, she moved to Zagreb where she performed in numerous theatrical productions at Teatar &TD, Zagreb Dance Center, Teatar Rugantino, Moruzgva theatre, and Mala Scena theatre. Besides acting, she directed several theatre plays: Ronilac bisera (Diver of Pearls), Nabavit ću si mačka (I’ll Get Myself a Cat), Pristajanja (Landings), Studije o divljoj gusci (Surveys of Wild Geese), and Mala čuda (Little Wonders). She is a member of the Croatian Association of Independent Artists and the Croatian Society of Dramatic Artists. In 2012 she participated in the Acting Studio workshop as part of the Sarajevo Film Festival’s Talent Campus programme.
Her 2014 debut as a short fiction film director, Just Like That, was shown in competition of international film festivals: Zagreb Film Festival, UNICA in St. Petersburg, 20min/max International Short Film Festival, FeKK Ljubljana Short Film Festival, and Revue of Croatian Short Films. She is currently in postproduction of her sophomore short fiction film I’m Not Telling You Anything, Just Sayin‘. The film was supported by Croatian Audiovisual Centre and has participated on European Short Pitch – Nisi Masa.
